I've successfully built app-misc/livetools 1.2.3 on AMD64 by running 'emerge /usr/portage/app-misc/livetools/livetools-1.2.3.ebuild'. I haven't extensively tested the functionality, but running 'liveird' and enabling the XMMS plugin allows me to control XMMS using the RM-900 remote that came with my SB Live!. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run 'emerge livetools'. Portage complains about missing keywords. I'd copy the error message, but Mozilla is refusing to recognize the KDE clipboard today for some reason. 2. Force-emerge the ebuild using the full path. 3. Run 'liveird'. 4. Run XMMS and enable the plugin that was built and installed by the forced emerge. 5. Put batteries in your Creative RM-900 remote. 6. Press the play button on the remote. 7. XMMS begins to play. Actual Results: Play/pause/stop/prev track/next track/volume up/vol down/mute buttons on the remote all work as expected. Expected Results: Exactly what it did. Perhaps there should be a special bug format for ebuild testing, as some of these fields don't make much sense when something works properly... Or maybe I just missed it...
It most likely doesn't matter, but here's the Portage error: Calculating dependencies !!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "livetools" have been masked. !!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request: - app-misc/livetools-1.2.3 (masked by: missing keyword) - app-misc/livetools-1.1 (masked by: missing keyword) For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or section 2.2 "Software Availability" in the Gentoo Handbook.
in CVS now, thanks!
