Just wanted to report that the ebuild worked without any problems. I wasn't able to get any sound support from the program, so I could neither record nor playback anything. It didn't crash or report any error, though. I've tried playing back the files from the command-line with gst-launch-0.8, so gstreamer seems to work. It is configured via gstreamer-properties to use ALSA by default. Other gstreamer apps, like totem, work without problems.
Hi! I installed marlin, but it doesn't seem to work so well. it runs OK but I couldn't record - it just doesn't do anything. I could open one WAV file but that's about it... In the terminal I get many warnings from gstreamer, glib-gobject and libmarlin.
The author of marlin has been offline for a few months, recent versions of gstreamer or gst-plugins may have broken some assumptions marlin uses. Until a new version of marlin comes out, its best not in portage.
Marking as later for comment #5. Feel free to reopen when new versions are available.
Looks like there's a new version of marlin out - 0.8
and another 0.9 has just been released. However it depends on unstable nautilus-cd-burner (2.11.x)
