I tried to emerge imagemagick 6.1.0.1 and it failed, because Portage was not able to download imagemagick 6.1.0-1. 
I tried to do it manually and searched at www.imagemagick.org for a mirror.
No 6.1.0.1 at ftp://gd.tuwien.ac.at/pub/graphics/ImageMagick/
and ftp://ftp.fu-berlin.de/unix/X11/graphics/ImageMagick

New releases usually take some time to be distributed over all mirrors available. Simply wait a few hours, or download the file manually from mirrors where it can already be found.
