Description Bernd Lehmann 2002-08-23 21:31:40 UTC
under kde 2 this tex-shell is called ktexmaker2. In kde 3 the same program ist
called kile.
If you install ktexmaker under kde3 the program do not work correctly. For
example the menu line is scrolling and the program crashes very often.

So either ktexmaker2 should be masked or the ebuild must be changed. If the
kdelibs are higher than kdelibs-2.2.2 it is not allowed to install ktexmaker2.
Instead of that kile should been installed.

KDE 3.x and 2.2.2 can coexist on gentoo, and if you install ktexmaker2 (but not
kile) it will work in kde 2.2.2. I don't think anything should be done about
this specifically, because I'm considering retiring our kde2 ebuild set
entirely, in one way or another. However all this must happen after the freeze
since it involves numerous package updates, among other things.
