I made and attached an ebuild for a openoffice.org 2.0 snapshot (OOo_1.9.m58_native_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz). Works nicely for me (I'm on an amd64 machine) and I'm sure there would be some who might want to try test the 2.0 snapshot. The ebuild is by no means perfect, but it works. Things such as dependancies and licencing I copied from the 1.1.3 ebuild, and I got some ideas of off some other ebuilds (this is my first). One dependency I added was for rpm2targz, which is needed because the tarball download is really tarballed rpms. Some errors do pop up, but no showstopers. First run after install is SLOW but all runs thereafter are a bit faster (oooqs makes it even faster). If this makes the portage tree (I hope) it should definately be hard masked. But it would be nice to have on the tree for us early testers. The big addition to 2.0 of course is the database front end, also it does look prettier than the 1.1 series. The ebuild is version specific (I'm not a programmer so go easy on me). Also I put a fetch restriction on because I'm not familiar with the mirrors and all (plus since it's not my file I wasn't sure I had the right to), but the web address in the ebuild points to the download page.
Created attachment 42945 [details] ebuild to install OOo_1.9.m58_native_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz ebuild to install OOo_1.9.m58_native_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz might want to give it a different slot or package name to prevent older mature version from being overwritten.
One other note: I did not use the ooo wrapper for the ebuild. I'm not that good yet.
No way that we put this in official portage right now, the release is still some months off, so... Still: Thanks for your report
Created attachment 44448 [details] ebuild to install OOo_1.9.m62_native_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz This installs OOo_1.9.m62_native_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz, which now has a working forms wizard in the new database feature. Also, this version installs in 'Slot 1', so it will not uninstall or overwrite OOo 1.1.x (this IS only a test version after all). It installs in /opt/OpenOffice.org.2.0 , while OOo 1.1.x will stay in /opt/OpenOffice.org . Still no usage of the ooowrapper, and anyway I'm not even sure 1.1.x settings have any relevance in 2.0. If you do want to uninstall 1.1.x do an "emerge openoffice-bin -P" (that's a capital P for prune).
Now that ebuilds are in portage for the 2.0 beta I think we can close this.
