There is some kind of environment problem, where it cannot find some of the libraries it needs. ld.so.conf has correct paths for qt and kde. Running env-update && source /etc/profile does no good. In fact, the configure output below proves that the libraries are detected. Problem with libtool perhaps? I worked around the problem this way: ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=~amd64 LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/qt/3/lib:/usr/kde/3.3/lib" emerge kde-base/kdetoys Marked minor since it can be gotten around easily. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=~amd64 2. FEATURES=maketest 3. emerge kde-base/kdetoys Actual Results: ]2;Started emerge on: Oct 30, 2004 13:27:38]2; *** emerge --verbose kde-base/kdeCalculating dependencies ]2; >>> emerge (1 of 15) kde-base/kdetoys-3.3.1 to /]2;emerge: (1 of 15) kde-base/kdetoys-3.3.1 Clean]2;emerge: (1 of 15) kde-base/kdetoys-3.3.1 Compile>>> Unpacking source... >>> Unpacking kdetoys-3.3.1.tar.bz2 to /var/tmp/portage/kdetoys-3.3.1/work >>> Source unpacked. configure: WARNING: If you wanted to set the --build type, don't use --host. I've made the attached patch and I'm waiting for an answer from the authors, then I'll commit it in the KDE CVS. Thanks for reporting.
Created attachment 43244 [details] kweather-make-check-fix.patch
Any chance of getting the fix into the official Portage tree?
I think that you should wait until kde 3.3.2, for now just remove the maketest feature.
