When MythTV wants to get the channel listings, it uses scripts from the xmltv package. There is no dependency on xmltv, so the channel listing action fails. Google is then required to find the tv_grab_* scripts, which finally point one at xmltv. DEPENDing on xmltv will increase the dependencies of mythtv by ~40 perl, tk and other packages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Mythtv is more than just watching tv. I'd imagine all the modules other than watching and recording tv don't require xmltv and it's huge list of dependencies. Not to mention the fact that mythtv can now grab listings for north america from zap2it direct without requiring xmltv. Also a frontend only machine (that someone still wants to install all of mythtv for) or a secondary backend doesn't need it. I will however add a note to the postinst message about xmltv.
