I've built gringotts 0.6.2 in a emerge -u world. It is unable to open the old
files created with 0.5.9, and 0.6.1 does the same. It simply segfaults after
entering the password, so I had to reemerge 0.5.9 with worked. I use a pure
gcc3.2 system, and all of them are built with -march=athlon -O2 -pipe.

Is it supposed to be able to open them anyway ?

This is definitively not a Gentoo bug. However, please try emerging a recent
version (gringotts 1.2.2 is available, marked as ~x86).

Other possible workarounds:
- Open your files using version 0.5.9, keep them anywhere else while you emerge
a new version, and then save them again from the latter.
- Stick to the version that works for you :)
