I'm having the same problem (same error messages/failed build) with both this and older versions (e.g., 8.1904.0-r1). With USE -gnutls with +libressl and +openssl the errors are still present. The build completes on systems not using libressl (+openssl +gnutls). Seems related to libressl, as -libressl -openssl +gnutls allows the build to complete.
libressl support was dropped.
