Description corey 2004-10-29 08:24:44 UTC
When in nautilus and I pick Arrange items->By emblems, the file icons do not change the order they are displayed in, even though i have many icons marked as "generic" or "special". This stopped when i upgraded from gnome 2.4 to gnome 2.6

Also, in something i'm sure is related, the "emblem bar" at the left hand side does nothing. When i select a file and click am emblem on the bar, the emblem does not show up on my files.

I have created a new user, and logged in as them, and tried it to make sure it was not some wierd user setting that had happened. The problem still exists as other users. this started happening while still using gnome 2.4.

I tried reemerging nautlius and the problem still exists.

Also of note: my upgrade from 2.4 to 2.6 was not intentional. i think i upgraded galeon, and some other gnome package, and they upgraded half of the gnome system to 2.6

i tried fixing the "emblem bar" problem with a "emerge -v gnome" and emblems stopped working alltogether

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. put some emblems on some icons
2. select Arrange items->By emblems

Actual Results:
absolutely nothing

Expected Results:
it should have sorted the icons in order of their emblems.

this does work for me in nautilus-2.8.2 , can you still reproduce with that version ?
