Earlier today I found, cannot remember by what means, presumably randomly clicking on gentoo.org site, and found a some 28 MB .dmg file for MAC OS X+X11. Now at the faculty, and before classes, I could not identify the location of that download. I firmly suggest you to improve search on your site. Practically this link is NOT under ppc pages; and the various mirrors of you otherwise WONDERFUL distro are empty there! This is not a bug regarding the distro, but referring to better organising your site. Indeed, it would be very useful to make us rapidly identify the location we need. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try to identify where the MAC OS X .dmg installer is located upon opening www.gentoo.org 2. Click on the mirrors reflecting ppc/macosx; most of them (all?) are empty 3. Actual Results: Smoked several cigarettes, which I do not recommend you, of course Expected Results: www.gentoo.org should have a rapid search engine
feature req on the website
Once we start to follow the same release schedule as Gentoo proper (and I don't see a reason why we wouldn't), there should be a {gentoo-mirror}/Releases/ppc-macos directory structure. Is there any reason not to start this /before/ we move to a regular release pattern? We're technically still in a greek-alphabet pre-release state. Suggestions?
No action has been taken on this that I am aware of. The most up-to-date installer can be found linked to from http://metadistribution.org/macos/. I'm marking this as LATER because I believe the issues of standard mirroring and "official" web-site links will be resolved once we release. The above link can be found when reading the portage/macos installation documentation.
