A new userspace package "cpufrequtils" has been released. It contains of a "libcpufreq" which various cpufreq userspace tools (like cpufreqd) will rely on for access to the cpufreq core in the kernel, a "cpufreq-info" tool which is useful for bug hunting and reporting as well as for determining the current CPU speed without having to type long sysfs paths, and a "cpufreq-set" tool which allows to change CPU frequency settings on the command line without having to type long sysfs paths. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Created attachment 42801 [details] proposed ebuild proposed ebuild for cpufrequtils-0.1-pre1
Created attachment 43298 [details] cpufrequtils-0.1_pre2.ebuild Some minor improvements (including correct src_uri :)
Looks great! I removed keywords except ~x86 which I can test. Dominik, if you have access to all the other archs, please change accordingly.
Thanks for doing so! As I have only access to x86, I suggest we push only that arch in keywords first, and we can add other arches later on. On a non-gentoo x86_64 the package works fine, but the lib content gets installed in /usr/lib/ instead of /usr/lib64/ which may be wrong on some distributions. Don't know whether gentoo einstall handles this already.
cpufrequtils-0.1-pre2 is out and available from the same place, so mv cpufrequtils-0.1_pre1.ebuild cpufrequtils-0.1_pre2.ebuild should work
1.2.0 version released.
