Unfortunately, this can't be reproduced. Could you please try a:

$ git clone https://gitlab.awesome-it.de/overlays/gitlab.git

An post the result?

Now it's working.

There was a problem in syncing from the repository before. Cloud be related to your gitlab service being in maintenance?

This could be the reason. Our Gitlab is going down for maintenance and is temporarily not available during the maintenance windows.
