What is NOC Support?
A network is the heart of every company. It is what helps companies communicate internally and externally, store vital data, and many other functions. However, there are a million things that can go wrong with a network, and it requires monitoring and troubleshooting to remain secure and provide an optimum performance. A network operations center, or NOC, is a centralized place where IT technicians can help support companies remotely with their networking needs, through remote monitoring and management, or RMM.

How does a NOC work and what are the responsibilities of NOC technicians?
Companies, especially large corporations and enterprises have extensive networking systems that allow them to efficiently be competitive in their industry. However, the larger a network the higher potential of threats and malfunctions. This is where a NOC comes in. Companies can hire in-house technicians, but this can add extensive expenses to their budget. Plus, it can be difficult to hire IT technicians that are willing to work or be on call 24/7.

This is where having a NOC works exponentially for a company. The company can hire a NOC for a low monthly fee every month. By doing this, the NOC technicians will take responsibility for remotely monitoring the company’s network and catch any issues that appear on the network 24 hours 7 days a week. Apart from monitoring network systems, NOC technicians are equipped to assist with many other tasks, as well.

They are trained to spot discrepancies in a network and recognize different types of attacks and malfunctions that might happen in a network. NOC technicians provide detailed reports about attacks, outages, malfunctions, and anything else that happens to a company network, and they are the people a company calls when they are experiencing network issues in the office. NOC technicians are also capable of helping company employees with installing the network on new machinery, updating current systems, and troubleshooting random issues down to a single machine, if needed.
