Hardware: Tyan TN71-BP012 server (CPU: Power8, 10-core) Boot media: install-powerpc-minimal-20190715T101002Z.iso Tried kernels: /boot/ppc32 - firmware rejects to boot 32 bit kernel /boot/G5 & /boot/ibmpower - no any output after firmware passes control to kernel (hardware hangs?) Tried kernel boot options: console=hvc0 loglevel=7 Workaround: 1. install other distribution supporting PPC(64) architecture (Hmmm... It looks like only choice form major distributions is Debian and Ubuntu Server) on spare media 2. boot from spare media 3. install Gentoo PPC(64) from Stage3
This bug got kinda lost... anyone still interested?
