Amarok 1.0.2 crashes when trying to play a file if playback is set to use gstreamer or xine. To be stable, it has to be set to arts playback. The depressing thing there is that arts causes CPU overloads in KDE-3.3 on amd64 and dies. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open amarok 2. configure amarok to use gstreamer (gstreamer installed) 3. select a file and hit play Actual Results: Amarok closes without a specific error. Expected Results: Play the durned file ;) Portage 2.0.51-r2 (default-amd64-2004.2, gcc-3.3.4, glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r1, 2.6.9-gentoo-r1 x86_64) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.9-gentoo-r1 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+ Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 ccache version 2.3 [enabled] Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.59-r5 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.5-r1 Binutils: sys-devel/binutils-2.15.90.0.1.1-r3 Headers: sys-kernel/linux26-headers-2.6.6-r1 Libtools: sys-devel/libtool-1.5.2-r5 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/env /usr/kde/3.3/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache distlocks" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://open-systems.ufl.edu/mirrors/gentoo ftp://ftp.gtlib.cc.gatech.edu/pub/gentoo http://mirror.datapipe.net/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X aac aalib acpi aim alsa amd64 arts artswrappersuid audiofile avi berkdb bitmap-fonts bluetooth bootspla c cdparanoia cdr cdri cdrom chroot cjk codecs crypt css cups devfs devfs26 dhcp directfb divx4linux dts dv dvd dvdread edl emoticon encode esd ethereal f77 faac faad fam fbcon ffmpeg flac foomaticdb foreign-package ftp gd gdbm gif gimp gimpprint gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 icq ieee1394 imagemagick imlib jabber java javascript jp2 jpeg jpeg2k kde kerberos ldap libg++ libwww mikmod monkey motif mozcalendar mozdevelop moznocompose moznoirc moznomail mp3 mpeg mpeg4 mplayer mppe-m msql mssql multilib music ncurses net network nls nogcj nvidia offensive oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl png python qt quicktime quotes readline rogue rtc samba scanner sdl slang smime sms sndfile spell ssl stencil-buffer tcltk tcpd tiff truetype unicode usb v4l v4l2 vcd vcdimager vim xine xml xml2 xmlrpc xmms xprint xv xvid yahoo zlib"
Is this fixed in amarok-1.1.1? If not, please report it upstream.
Hmmm... well, amarok 1.1.1 is hard-masked in amd64... so I'm guessing I should just go look at their bugzilla...
