when I start up my wm of choice, and then start xcompmgr, the background goes grey. None of the *setbg utilites work to change the background from the grey. The wm's affected by this are: fluxbox, blackbox, openbox, aewm, aewm++, evilwm, fvwm, xfce, enlightenment. Enlightenment is also effected in other ways when xcompmgr is running, like portions of the screen not redrawing, and ghost images laying around on the desktop.
