Description Francisco Blas Izquierdo Riera (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2019-06-29 21:08:27 UTC
Our current stable version of opendkim is unusable because of #683338 since backporting the use of enewuser/enewgroup to -r8 is likely to be frowned upon, can we aim to stabilize -r15 so we have a version that will work for new installations on stable?

Ralph, mjo asking you first before I send the request the arch teams.
Comment 1 Ralph Seichter 2019-06-29 21:12:26 UTC
Please note open pull request https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo/pull/12353 (-r16 ebuild).
Comment 2 Michael Orlitzky gentoo-dev 2019-07-17 16:27:13 UTC
Oh, crap, I didn't realize you were waiting on input from me. Sorry. Yeah, let's do it.

We can do the -r16 separately in a few weeks; or by then the new user-package GLEP will probably be approved and we should separate out the opendkim user/group into their own packages.
Comment 3 Ralph Seichter 2019-07-17 16:44:02 UTC
-r16 has been merged three weeks(ish) ago. That's not quite 30 days, but since it includes a fix for a breaking issue, perhaps the arches would be willing to stabilise it anyway, instead of -r15?
Comment 4 Thomas Deutschmann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2019-07-18 13:24:44 UTC
We will go with -16

but not yet on amd64.

just ran into this issue installing opendkim-2.10.3-r8

OK - doing a "userdel opendkim" and try to install the ~amd64 version -16.

Well, as usual for Gentoo, either accept ~amd64 for mail-filter/opendkim-2.10.3-r16 or be patient until it becomes stable. We're not making any changes to -r8.

amd64 stable
Comment 10 Michael Orlitzky gentoo-dev 2019-07-22 14:01:56 UTC
Ralph, if you want to create a PR to clean up the old revisions, we can now finally get rid of most of the stuff in $FILESDIR.
Comment 11 Ralph Seichter 2019-07-22 15:24:04 UTC
I will create a PR for that. Already had placed it on my to-do list. ;-)
