Catalyst 1.1.0 lacks an option to disable the keymap prompt at boot time for the livecd. This could confuse sparc users, since it's bad for us with 2.4 kernels to use standard peecee keymaps (the sun* ones would be required, *cough* plasmaroo *cough* genkernel *cough*). On the 2.6 side of things it would be different, but we're not there quite yet, so an option is the best way. It could possibly affect other architectures too.
Ok, changed to "genkernel 3.1.0+ should have an option to choose the keymap set". Basically on 2.4 kernels on sparc the keymaps required are /usr/share/keymaps/sun/* instead of the current (default) generic/i386-based ones. This isn't a showstopper, only a (probable) documentaion consistency problem would arise from this since right now the sparc livecd won't prompt for keymap selection when booting (i'm disabling this from the archscript).
If you stuff those keymaps (uncompressed and renamed into $file.map) from /usr/share/keymaps/sun into /usr/share/genkernel/generic/keymaps.tar.gz and try that, entering $file at the prompt, do things work correctly?
Booting with nokeymap WORKSFORNOW, I'd be more than happy to add keymaps if I get an updated keymap tarball (see comment #2). Thanks!
