Description Johannes Hirte 2019-06-06 18:14:01 UTC
After upgrading to texlive-2019, I get this error message:

! LaTeX Error: File `etoolbox.sty' not found

Checking with equery -f dev-texlive/texlive-latexextra shows, that this is really missing.

This is literally not as per:

zlogene@unrandom ~ $ kpsewhich etoolbox.sty
/usr/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex/etoolbox/etoolbox.sty

 * Searching for etoolbox.sty ...
dev-texlive/texlive-latexrecommended-2019 (/usr/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex/etoolbox/etoolbox.sty)

please try running `texmf-update` command
Comment 2 Johannes Hirte 2019-06-06 21:45:30 UTC
kpsewhich etoolbox.sty

shows nothing, and texmf-update doesn't change anything.

lano ~ # equery f dev-texlive/texlive-latexrecommended|grep etool
/usr/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex/etoolbox
/usr/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex/etoolbox/etoolbox.def
/usr/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex/etoolbox/etoolbox.sty

it's installed, but I still get the same error

Yet it has noyhig to do with gentoo itself, your texmf tree is probably broken.
Comment 5 Johannes Hirte 2019-06-07 14:35:20 UTC
I have two different systems with the same problem. After updating texlive from version 2017 to 2019 via emerge, I can't build the documents anymore, and this has nothing to do with Gentoo? It was the update that broke it. Saying this has nothing to do with Gentoo itself is ridiculous.
