DirectFB released a CVS-snapshot
here's the link http://directfb.org/snapshots/DirectFB-2004-10-10.tar.gz

I'm using DirectFB for TV-out on a matrox-card with mplayer, but the version in portage doesn't work with a 2.6-kernel. The CVS-snapshot has support for newer kernels and worked for me.
So an new ebuild would be fine. :)

DirectFB 0.9.21 is out, so this should not be needed anymore...

also, we dont normally do this kind of thing unless it's really needed, it's bad form
