But it might be replaced (and released to public) with v1.16.1 due to bug fixes. Due to that (public release) I thought it simpler to just use the default slot.

I found that there is a Plex Overlay at https://github.com/comio/plex-overlay # eselect repository list ... [293] plex-overlay * (https://github.com/comio/plex-overlay) Perhaps the ebuilds from this overlay could be a part of Gentoo? :) Thanks!
Thanks Gatak. I've merged a newer version of Plex into mainline, but I'll definitely look at integrating the patches/changes from that overlay too (as well as keeping it up to date with new versions).
