I was trying to find a newer release from rpm2targz in Slackware (its upstream), but it seems it was replaced by: https://packages.slackware.com/?r=slackware-current&p=rpm2tgz-1.2.2-i586-2.txz Maybe we should migrate to it, the only issue is that rpm.eclass will need to be bumped as rpm2tgz doesn't have rpm2tar command, only rpm2targz (even if, reading the script, maybe it could be patched to allow a rpm2tar to be created and gzip compression being skipped) Thanks
rpm2targz has far more features than Slackware's rpm2tgz. i don't think they're comparable at all anymore. Slackare's rpm2tgz is good only if you're actually running Slackware. i'll add more details to the rpm2targz README. https://gitweb.gentoo.org/proj/rpm2targz.git/commit/?id=e8c12b5d196e5b6cc9181fc6c34ca438d0cfa3c9
