Testing right now, will add to CVS pretty soon. Thanks for the report!
Comment 2 Michael Kohl (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-23 03:28:40 UTC
Ok, I submitted a new version of FXRuby for the 1.2 branch of Fox, I guess FreeRIDE can make use of these. Unfortunately I won't be able to do much work this weekend, so if anybody can beat me to submitting an Ebuild for 0.8.0, please do so! :)
Comment 3 Michael Kohl (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-03 04:23:34 UTC
Ok, two things happened here:

1. FreeRIDE didn't work for me, and I couldn't figure out the reason yet.
2. After testing FreeRIDE on another machine, I lost interest in it.

So if someone wants to do this ebuild, please do so, if not I'll maybe have another go when time permits.

Freeride-0.9.2

There is an upstream bug with ~/.freeride it seems to be a known issue. The
ebuild works fine.

Comment 5 Michael Kohl (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-07 11:31:54 UTC
Thanks for the Ebuild submission, it motivated me to finally work on FreeRIDE again.

I've created a patch out of FreeRIDE CVS which seems to fix the ~/.freeride issue you mentioned. I will commit this package later today after some further testing.
Comment 6 Michael Kohl (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-07 13:44:27 UTC
I've added FreeRIDE 0.9.2 plus my patch to the tree. It would be nice if some people could test it and report back if it fixes the mentioned issues for them.

Thanks for the report. Lack of sleep and neglected University duties are bad preconditions for submitting it seems.

I've just commited a newer version of the patch. Please test again.
Comment 10 Guy 2005-02-08 04:22:35 UTC
The new ebuild isn't in portage yet. However, the attached ebuild here seems to work. ;-)
Comment 11 Michael Kohl (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-08 10:06:12 UTC
Yeah, we knew that the ebuild supplied here works, but it has some segfault issues (know upstream). The test request mostly concerns the patch I created out of FreeRIDE CVS.

But thanks anyway!
Comment 12 Brandon Philips 2005-02-13 12:20:51 UTC
Works great here. Thanks!
Comment 13 Michael Kohl (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-17 04:11:07 UTC
Thanks for the feedback Brandon. As this bug is alredy fixed in FreeRIDE CVS, the next version won't need a patch. But up until then we have a working version without random segfaults. :)
Comment 14 Alexandru Toma 2005-02-18 01:54:57 UTC
The ebuild works fine here. Thank you!
Comment 15 Aquila 2005-02-28 23:01:07 UTC
A new release is available: 0.9.3. Perhaps that one should be used instead of this patched release?
Comment 16 Michael Kohl (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-01 03:45:35 UTC
0.9.3 will be added to the tree sometime later today. I guess the patch will be no longer needed for that version.
Comment 17 Michael Kohl (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-01 07:52:52 UTC
I've added the package to the tree now. For future versions please create and new bug and don't re-use an existing one that's already marked resolved. Thanks!
