It seems often when I submit a bugreport I get the reply: Please include version of your compiler (normally GCC) and the settings in make.conf. Now this is understandible but when I include the output from emerge then all this basic debug info should be available. If the output from emerge is not meant for debugging then what _is_ it for? So I propose that emerge figures out the version of the compiler and the settings in make.conf and print those so debugging will be easier even if you only have access to the output from emerge.
Done. 'emerge info' to be in portage-2.0.42
