HAL 0.4 has been released, containing fixes to 0.2.98. The 0.4 branch will be stable (only bugfixes are allowed). Release information: http://freedesktop.org/pipermail/hal/2004-October/001147.html
yeah we know about releases..
But why do we not bump the version in portage then?
because it may require additional tweaking and that takes time & effort... seeing none of you have put that in so far i would stop asking and start doing something. Are you really so naive to think that it's all 'a simple bump', we're not forum regulars who can only exclaim 'i bumped it and it just happened to work'. I get worked up about these totally unneeded & clueless comments. If you got nothing to add, then don't say anything : these are not the forums!
ok, I tested this by renaming the hal version to 0.4.0 and emerging. Works with ivman as expected. Sorry for not testing it, before I complained. What do you still need to bump it? Another tester? Now I have put some time and effort into it, please complain if it was not enough.
well actually it isn't .. i know for a fact that the whole fstab-sync deal has changed enough that it probably doesn't work for new users, but here i'm guiding you while i haven't had much more than a peek at it.... tells me enough
I guess gentoo's util-linux will need the Fedora patch to allow the use of the "managed" keyword in fstab, untill it's incorporated in the "official" util-linux package (which should happen soon if all goes well?) I cannot do much testing myself too, but once I get my new setup I hope I'll be able to help deploying the "Project Utopia" infrastructure in gentoo.
nice work, I see it in portage now, can yyou please close this?
In portage
