Description Karl Trygve Kalleberg (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-19 07:43:36 UTC
Real Name: Andrew Frederick Cowie
IRC nick: AfC

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
" Describe how to reproduce the problem, step by step. Include any special setup steps."

1. Wake up
2. Look at the Gentoo developer's list
3. Notice the missing Andrew Frederick Cowie

Actual Results:
"What happened after you performed the steps above?"

He still wasn't there.

Expected Results:
"What should the software have done instead?"

Notified recruiters that I intend to add him. Oh, and fix all bugs assigned to
karltk@gentoo.org, too, while it's at it.

PS. The guided bug reporting should perhaps be customized differently for
recruitment;)

Before you go ahead and create any accounts for him, we should probably have him
state his preferred login name, as 'AfC' may not be the best choice.

Anywhere AfC isn't appropriate, You can use "afcowie" as the account name. It tends not to be taken.

[In fact, it's what I normally use... but everyone in Australia started saying "hey, A F C" to me when I would show up at meetings and conferences so I switched my freenode nick to that :)]

For those who don't know me, my personal bio is online at http://www.operationaldynamics.com/about/staff/andrew/

I'll take this one when he's ready.

If he has not already done so, he needs to mail his quiz and ssh key to recruiters@gentoo.org, and the quiz needs to be approved by the mentor
Comment 3 Deedra Waters (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-27 15:40:30 UTC
Have we gotten a quiz from him? If so, his mentor needs to approve the quiz first, and mark the bug as so. If not, then the mentor needs to give him the quiz etc.

Yeah, Karl and I have been a bit busy. We're on it.

Closing this for now. We can reopen this when we have a quiz for him.

As you wish. FYI, I've just jumped through the hoops to generate a new openssh keypair. While that sounds (and should be) trivial, we were running ssh.com SSH2 throughout, so I actually had to pull off a fairly major infrastructure shift (redoing ssh tunnels, authorized_keys all over the place, etc) for the new keys.

[I had to generate a keypair for GNOME as well (concurrently with my gentoo.org dev application I just finally got around to getting a gnome.org CVS committer account. Approved, Yeay); I could have just used an openssh-ized version of my DSA key, but it was time to refresh it in any case]

As for the quiz, it's like half done, but both karltk and I are very busy (I'm actually *coding* applications, and also working upstream on java-gnome bugs - we've got a release there soon).

Merry Christmas, etc
