Description Michael C. Ferguson 2004-10-18 08:30:44 UTC
Here is an ebuild for xxd, an application to convert data to/from hex. Tested
and works for me.

Whoever is going to add this, please note: this conflicts with xxd from vim-core.
Comment 3 Michael C. Ferguson 2004-10-19 13:57:55 UTC
I noticed this also, after I tested it on a machine that had vim-core installed.
Hrm... Maybe it would be useful to take xxd out of vim-core, since they appear to
be the exact same package? Or would it be better to just make these packages block
each other?

vim folk:
xxd is your domain, perhaps you want to split it out?
I've definetly used it outside of vim before.
Comment 5 Ciaran McCreesh 2004-11-18 13:12:13 UTC
Not really. The vim supplied xxd isn't entirely the same as this one anyway, better to just stick with the one that's actively maintained.
