Some change between rc3 and rc4 causes this. The linux-dvb project had a similar problem. See this link: http://www.linuxtv.org/mailinglists/linux-dvb/2004/10-2004/msg00294.html. I'll let solar have final say on this, but for the most part, we really don't have the time as devs to follow every change/error in every RC kernel with kernel module packages. As soon as the kernel is a *release* kernel, we'll make any updates necessary to support it. Solar?

The 2.6.9 kernel is now out. The same holds true. I cannot compile the madwifi-driver against 2.6.9.

Re comment #6 Ok can you disable the multi ssid patch and see if you get the same results
Oops I just figured out that wlan_radius and wlan_auth aren't included in 20041019. The were still in /lib/modules/2.6.9/net (for some reason portage thinks, it is config protected), no wonder it didn't work.
So this bug can be closed as FIXED?
Yes, 20041019 works with the modified skbuff.h
