Description Gijsbert 2004-10-17 05:21:42 UTC
When I run XFIG on my gentoo linux (x86,all latest packages as of october 2004) and use the X11-ORG xwindows, it does not have its standard fonts. It will give give a clear message. After I switched to xfree86, it worked fine.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge x11-org
2. emerge xfig
3. in xfig, select text tool and select, e.g., helvetica, font size 20.

Actual Results:
An xfig dialog will tell you that the font cannot be found

Expected Results:
It should have shown the text in the requested font and fontsize

Otherwise x11-org caused no problem whatsoever.

Try USE=bitmap-fonts emerge xorg-x11.

Try USE=bitmap-fonts emerge xorg-x11.

This indeed resolves the problem.
