Description Seong-ho Cho 2019-02-10 02:51:43 UTC
recently, nvidia-drivers-390’s ebuild has been updated,
I tried to use updated version of nvidia-drivers with gentoo-sources-4.18
(I do not know why 4.18 kernel is disappeared from the gentoo tree)
but it shows blank screen via GTX560Ti when i start GUI by running lightdm on startup (and i tried to run slim to go into gui env, but it shows the same problem).

i am using the same setting before i updated driver,
but i do know know why... sometimes, it also shows tearing screen
(too much whity and bright vertical lines filling the entire screen).

i experienced the same problem when i emerged unsupported version of
nvidia-drivers for the GTX560Ti and >=gentoo-sources-4.19

I found that ..

this problem caused by changed logic to accept 'CustomEDID' from the monitor
so if 'CustomEDID' should be used, 'UseEDID' should be set to 'True'
