I've tried your ebuild and it's ok for me. The unique mistake was for the Header, that it's not the standard one because you probably based your ebuild on an existing one. Don't worry, just an information :). Ff you're interested you can give a look at this doc: http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/handbook/handbook.xml?part=2&chap=3 I'm curious, is this program mantained? Because I've noticed that some ui text are cutted, it doesn't support the --without-arts option (probably needed a patch), and it uses to compile the .moc files instead of including them in the .cpp ones, increasing a lot the compilation time but the news on the homepage don't report the dates. @kde herd: For the fact that I'm quite new here I'm not sure how to proceed. any suggestion? thanks. P.S. If you are the krita developer then congratulations to your team for the great work you are doing on it :D

Thanks for your comment about the header. I think it's still mantained, the file in the archive are dated from July 2004. But I am sure the author would accept any help available. PS: indeed I am one of krita developper, thanks for your encouragements.
Now in portage. Thanks. I've added a patch to configure, so the alsa patch is respected, it doesn't do anything other than removing the check for "mcopidl" and "artsc-config". I'll contact the author suggesting him to update the "admin" dir of kwebget.
