As bug 51840 discusses adding MySQL support to Bind these patches are for adding LDAP support to Bind. This is using sdb-ldap 1.0-beta from here: http://www.venaas.no/ldap/bind-sdb/ I haven't added any checks to make sure that both the mysql and ldap patches aren't applied together - but this should be implemented, unless someone who knows how to use diff better than I do can produce a patch which allows for the same lines to be modified in Bind's bin/named/Makefile.in and make patch able to locate the same places in bin/named/main.c after the other patch has been added. Hopefully a fairly easy thing to do - maybe a message that says set /usr/portage/packages.use to include net-dns/bind -ldap or net-dns/bind -mysql ?

ldap functionality already provided by dlz and http://www.venaas.no/ldap/bind-sdb/ still in beta stage and looks like no one maintains it please, reopen, if dlz is not suitable for your needs, Daniel
