After doing an emerge sync, I did an emerge --update world. Once it got to openoffice it crash with the following error : >>> Unpacking source... >>> Unpacking OOo_1.1.3_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz to /var/tmp/portage/openoffice-bin-1.1.3/work >>> Source unpacked. >>> Install openoffice-bin-1.1.3 into /var/tmp/portage/openoffice-bin-1.1.3/image/ category app-office * Installing OpenOffice.org into build root... /usr/sbin/ebuild.sh: line 90: ./setup: No such file or directory !!! ERROR: app-office/openoffice-bin-1.1.3 failed. !!! Function src_install, Line 90, Exitcode 127 !!! The setup program failed I went to /var/tmp/portage/openoffice-bin-1.1.3/work/OOo_1.1.3_LinuxIntel_install/work and found that the file setup was there and had the right permissions. But when I can it I got the following error : bash: ./setup: No such file or directory Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge --update openoffice-bin 2. 3. Actual Results: >>> Unpacking source... But when I can it I got the following error : bash: ./setup: No such file or directory Expected Results: Expected openoffice to install without errors :) USE="gtk qt kde gnome dvd alsa cdr"
The Setup file shouldn't be in /var/tmp/portage/openoffice-bin-1.1.3/work/OOo_1.1.3_LinuxIntel_install/work but in /var/tmp/portage/openoffice-bin-1.1.3/work/OOo_1.1.3_LinuxIntel_install I'm very very curious why it isn't
Oops, I wrote the wrong thing... setup is in : /var/tmp/portage/openoffice-bin-1.1.3/work/OOo_1.1.3_LinuxIntel_install Sorry about that.... I don't know why I wrote the wrong thing....
Could you please provide the output of "emerge info"
certainly : #> emerge info Portage 2.0.50-r11 (default-amd64-2004.2, gcc-3.3.4, glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r1, 2.6.7-gentoo-r11) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.7-gentoo-r11 x86_64 4 Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 ccache version 2.3 [enabled] Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.59-r4 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.5-r1 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-march=k8 -pipe -O2" CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb:/usr/kde/3.3/share/config /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/env /usr/kde/3.3/shutdown:/usr/kde/3.2/share/config:/usr/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/gconf:/etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=k8 -pipe -O2" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/gentoo ftp://mirror.pacific.net.au/linux/Gentoo http://gentoo.eliteitminds.com ftp://gentoo.ccccom.com" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X alsa amd64 apm arts avi berkdb bitmap-fonts cdr crypt dvd encode esd f77 foomaticdb gdbm gif gnome gpm gtk gtk2 imlib java jpeg kde libg++ libwww mikmod motif mpeg ncurses nls nogcj oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline sdl slang spell ssl tcpd truetype xml2 xmms xprint xv zlib"
As I can't reproduce that and it happens on AMD64, adding this herd to CC: Have you seen this bug or have a clue where this could result from?
If you might want to diagnose the problem, you might want to edit the ebuild and add a line before the calling of Setup that just reads "pwd". This will print the current directory. This should of course be "/var/tmp/portage/openoffice-bin-1.1.3/work/OOo_1.1.3_LinuxIntel_install"
Hey guys, Well it seems I somehow got my system in a "bad" state, so much so that /emul/lib didn't exist. This prevented the setup file from being able to run.... Ooops slight problem there.... Anyway after doing an emerge of the emul-* packages, openoffice installed fine. Thanks guys. Mof.
