I am using gaim from portage version 1.0.0 Japanese input works perfectly during conversations, but when i try to change my display name, the characters are not displayed. the text just turns blank as nothing is typed. (image posted on link) I am using SKIM on kde version 1.0.0 and using the Anthy IM engine. Using the MSN protocol for gaim. Changing your account alias is only for your local display. It does not affect what other users see when they chat with you. What you want to change is under Tools -> Account Actions -> (MSN Account) -> Set Friendly Name.
