I am using gaim from portage version 1.0.0
Japanese input works perfectly during conversations, but when i try to change my display name, the characters are not displayed. the text just turns blank as nothing is typed. (image posted on link) I am using SKIM on kde version 1.0.0 and using the Anthy IM engine. Using the MSN protocol for gaim.
Heres the link again: http://blueillusion.ath.cx/gaim.png

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open gaim
2. Change preferences
3. Change Display name with japanese characters

Actual Results:
Japanese text does not get displayed for my display name

Expected Results:
I expected the japanese text to be displayed to everyone

Programs i had running are:
SKIM (scim for kde) verison 1.0.0
Using the athy IM engine

Changing your account alias is only for your local display. It does not affect what other users see when they chat with you.

What you want to change is under Tools -> Account Actions -> (MSN Account) -> Set Friendly Name.

I'm closing this INVALID as I believe you were trying to change the wrong thing in the first place, and haven't heard a response from you.
