Description Wham 2004-10-14 14:01:21 UTC
Using KDE 3.3, plastik style, Azureus 2.1.0.4, gtk-qt-engine 0.5

Azureus loads up fine and normally when I decide not to use the gtk-qt-engine but the second I set it to use KDE styles Azureus will crash after the splash screen and progress bar on the opening screen is complete. I suspect the problem might be with pango but that's just a guess from the output error generated.

gtk-qt-engine works fine with gaim, firefox, xchat2 but not with azureus.

-Tried uninstalling unifont thinking this was a different bug in bugzilla under Azureus.
-Tried the latest cvs release of Azureus and still the problem occurs.
-Tried the 1.6 Pango (masked) Package in portage and still no results

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install KDE 3.3, Azureus 2.1.0.4, gtk-qt-engine 0.5
2. Go to KDE Control Panel, Appearances & Themes, and select GTK Styles and Fonts module
3. Under GTK Styles select use KDE style in GTK applications
4. Run Azureus

Note: The GTK Fonts section does not affect azureus whether you're using KDE fonts or not.

Actual Results:
The splash screen shows and the progress bar loads fully and the final status
given is "Opening Views" then the Azureus crahses with the output in the
attachment file.

Give the sun-jdk a shot. It worked for me when Azureus was crashing with blackdown-jdk.
Unfortunately, there's not much I can do about this because this package is still very "in development" and prone to bugs. Just hope upstream releases a new, better version soon :)

Please reopen if sun-jdk fails too.
