KSirc cannot connect to irc server using SSL unless IO-Socket-SSL ebuild is merged. Exactly the same problem was reported for kde-3.2.2, see #54107. There is an easy fix. Add the following line to the DEPEND part of kdenetwork ebuild file: ssl? ( dev-perl/IO-Socket-SSL ) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open up ksirc, try to connect to an ssl enabled server (check the SSL checkbox). Actual Results: ksirc complained about missing perl package.
Added dep on dev-perl/IO-Socket-SSL in kde-base/kdenetwork and kde-base/ksirc for kde 3.4.
