i have a text file with DOS (CR/LF) line endings, when opening it in emacs, emacs correctly detects the DOS line endings and saves of that buffer will contain DOS line endings, but ... if i convert the file (using dos2unix for example) to unix line endings and afterwards do a revert-buffer in emacs it still assumes the file uses DOS line endings, if i save this buffer, it will be saved use DOS line endings (effectively undoing my dos2unix conversion) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: see details Actual Results: see details Expected Results: revert-buffer should recheck the used line endings and don't assume the line ending style didn't change
Have you sent it to upstream? I don't think this is Gentoo specific thing, and needs to be sent to upstream.
I didn't send it upstream (or was the question addressed to somebody else?)
Shall i send it upstream, or has somebody already taken care of it?
(Sorry for not responding immediately) Dirk: No, we haven't taken it to upstream. Could you send it to emacs upstream?
I send the contents of this bugzilla to emacs-pretest-bug@gnu.org
Dirk can you still reproduce this error?
I think this has been fixed long ago.
