Description Brandon Low (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-14 05:13:36 UTC
the faad2-2.0-r1 version has an unresolved symbol (see bug 50024) when upgrading a system, programs which depend on faad2 functioning (such as xmms-1.2.10-r7) should block this version of faad2, it seems.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge faad2-2.0-r1
2. emerge xmms
3. try to run xmms

Actual Results:
notice that it doesn't work, and that the emerge of xmms didn't force faad2 off
of the broken version.
first attempt:
/usr/lib/libmp4v2.so.0: undefined symbol
second attempt:
Inconsistency detected by ld.so: ../sysdeps/generic/dl-tls.c: 72:
_dl_next_tls_modid: Assertion `result <= _rtld_local._dl_tls_max_dtv_idx' failed!

Expected Results:
Uhh xmms should have started.

emerge -uv xmms should fix it, which is sufficient since that other bug is closed
