Glaxium is an arcade game using OpenGL. This is the new version 0.4 with many enhancements. Seems like the author has broken sound under linux, but it is very well playable without sound, and sound will soon be there again. Feel free to contact me if I made any mistakes, this is my first ebuild and I tried to adhere to your guides, but sometimes they are quite confusing. Just don't beat me with a trout, ok? :-)
Created attachment 3218 [details] glaxium-0.4.ebuild The ebuild-file, it works with the ebuild-command, but I couldn't use it with emerge due to strange errors.

With the new version 0.5 of glaxium the configure script tests for a current GL/glext.h. my version here says it's version 7 of that file, at http://oss.sgi.com/projects/ogl-sample/ABI/glext.h we already have version 16 (!). GLaxium uses some of the nvidia-extensions found in the newer file. Because of this I tried to add a dep on a newer glext.h, but qpkg -f /usr/include/GL/glext.h gives no output. Where does this file come from, why is it that old? I don't know. I fixed the bugs in the 0.4-ebuild (sound works now), but until this is resolved it doesn't make much sense to add the ebuild.
the glext.h file can be found in dri cvs hopefully x4.3 will be released sometime soon to fix some of these problems
i downloaded the ebuild here and tried it out since i run dri cvs works fine with version 0.5 i did have to edit the ebuild a tad also made it so copying it over to next version works better

Created attachment 6162 [details] glaxium-0.5.ebuild take 2 found out what caused the sound problem missing depend for sdl-mixer (it helps to look at ./configure's output)
it need a newr version of glext.h This new version is in the new xfree, so we need wait. yes, i see the glext.h in glaxium web, but i think that is not recommendable to mix diferents versions of xfree files. regards
how about adding this to portage masked and have it depend on the masked xfree 4.2.99.4 or whatever the newest ver is
well xfree 4.3 is out anyone try this since then?
added to cvs ... it works with XFree but not nvidia ;x http://cvs.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/gentoo-x86/app-games/glaxium/glaxium-0.5.ebuild?rev=1.1&content-type=text/vnd.viewcvs-markup
