checking for xft >= 2.0 fontconfig >= 1.0... Package xft was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `xft.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'xft' found

configure: error: Library requirements (xft >= 2.0 fontconfig >= 1.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

where is your 'emerge info' ? read the bugreport form !

xft.pc should come with your X install ('qpkg -l xorg | grep xft.pc' - needs gentoolkit)
