Description Erik Thiele 2004-10-13 05:02:00 UTC
Yesterday i emerged a fresh gentoo. I did a full bootstrap and compiled
everything myself. now /etc/init.d/nscd is missing.

other people on IRC say, they have /etc/init.d/nscd even though they
are using the same versions of their packages.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. install a gentoo from scratch

Expected Results:
/etc/init.d/nscd must exist

glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r1 wasnt installing it for some reason

rather than rebuilding glibc, you can just do this:
cp /usr/portage/sys-libs/glibc/files/nscd /etc/init.d/
