Description Mark Purtill 2004-10-12 23:47:14 UTC
Whenever I get a popup from firefox after installing mozilla-firefox-1.0_pre-r2, I just get a box titled "Gecko" that says:

put-box {
^

The one I can reproduce is setting the tab-preferences preferences to confirm when there are several tabs, then close the window. The popup is as above. But I've seen it at least one other time that I don't think was related.

emerge info gives:

I just checked, and this does not happen with a new profile. However, I'm unwilling to throw away my cookies, passwords, bookmarks and so forth yet again (and this did not happen with the previous version, 0.9.3). And I can't find any "put-box" in my real profile (except in the history.dat file from puting in this bug).
Comment 2 Mark Purtill 2004-10-13 23:33:25 UTC
I found a page (<http://kb.mozillazine.org/index.phtml?title=Mozilla_Suite_:_FAQs_:_Profile>) which suggested removing the XUL.mfasl file from the profile. I did this and the problem went away. Perhaps mozilla-launcher should delete this as well when there's an upgrade? (It already deletes a couple of files; see bug 63999.)

fixed in mozilla-launcher-1.22, thanks :-)
Comment 4 Kimmo Sundqvist 2005-03-25 06:57:31 UTC
Using Firefox 1.0.2, upgraded from 1.0, and mozilla-launcher 1.29 and I get an empty window that has "Gecko" on the titlebar. Its contents do not get redrawn, because if I switch workspaces, the "Gecko" window will contain whatever was visible on that part of the previously visible workspace.
