If I try to login with lightdm into gnome I enter username and password, then I get an inputbox to enter the password for my keyring, but I did not come to the desktop. I can go to the console with CTRL-ALT-F1. I can restart lightdm and select xfce as desktop. Then the login is succesfull. 'dmesg' does not show errors and I do not see errors in /var/log/lightdm.log or /var/log/lightdm/x-0.log. root@lynx:/root(16)# genlop -t gnome-desktop | tail Tue Dec 26 02:01:14 2017 >>> gnome-base/gnome-desktop-3.24.2 merge time: 28 seconds. journalctl -b0 maybe? I doubt this has anything to do with gnome-desktop package upgrade
