While trying to upgrade glibc:

svcauth_des.c: In function `_svcauth_des':
svcauth_des.c:386: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault

It says that it could be a hardware problem, but I have never had issues with this hardware before; the system has otherwise been working great for several years. Here is the emerge info:

Is this still an issue with the latest glibc?

This was a hardware issue with the machine, the fan was not spinning. Closing the ticket...
