Description David Carlos Manuelda 2018-12-05 13:23:04 UTC
Some software, like steam-client, requires =x11-libs/libva-1*, yet the current version is 2*.

Instead of a forced downgrade, and then losing the new functionalities for, for example libva-intel-driver, why not the ability for it to be slotted like many other libs, and be installed the two versions in parallel?

I suspect some files clash, so perhaps we need a library-only SLOT here for proprietary stuff?

This seems the most quick solution and I think the appropriate one, as I've seen this need only in proprietary libs in the whole tree if I am not wrong.

I could add a libva-compat package for this. I recently did the same for gcrypt.
