Hi,

I recently (2 days ago) installed my laptop and had some problems getting my
wireless card to work reliably. I was reading through the Orinoco driver README
and it says:

http://ozlabs.org/people/dgibson/dldwd/README.orinoco

Q: I using version 0.12(something) and I'm getting lockups / it's not
   working.

A: Don't use any of the 0.12 versions. A blunder on my part meant
that we are attempting to use a locking model that's incompatible
   with the network layer.

I noticed that the current ebuild uses 0.12b, which is probably not a good thing
. I'd rather see people use the stable 0.11b driver. But that's just my opinion.

Anyway, here is an ebuild of that I modified without the 0.12b driver and added
the Orinoco Monitor Patch from Airsnort. I'd like to know what people think
about it. So far it's been working fine for me.

Cheers,

Alastair

if you read through the current ebuild then you will notice that if you define
wavelan in USE then it won't use the orinoco driver.

also I don't see the advantage of including this patch in the main pcmcia-cs
ebuild. You didn't really explain it and it's also could lead to errors with
some systems.

Making this bug as invalid.
