Description Nick Dimiduk (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-11 18:06:47 UTC
After a user downloads updates from Apple, versions of software installed are updated. The package.provided files in the users profile are henceforth no longer accurate regarding the version of the packages in question.

Do we care? Do we assume the user is keeping their system updated and thus update package.provided in cvs to reflect the most current system available from Apple? Can we check the package reciepts for installed updates and update /etc/package.provided accordingly? Dare we maintain different sub-profiles based on the updates installed (hey, we have cascading profiles now)?

we're prefixed now, hence this is kinda obsolete ;)
