Description Chris Haumesser 2004-10-11 17:53:50 UTC
After emerging fwbuilder-2.0.3, I am unable to open any of my existing fwb files, nor am I able to create any new fwbuilder projects. After firing up the program, it asks whether you want to open or start a new project. Either way, I always get an error message:

Error loading data file:
Data file '/usr/share/fwbuilder/objects_init.xml' was created by the future version of Firewall Builder.

This happens regardless of whether I update from an older version, or install from scratch. On one system, I unmerged my old fwbuilder, verified that the file referenced in the error was properly deleted, and then emerged 2.0.3. The error still persists.

I have replicated this on at least two separate gentoo installations. Installing fwbuilder-2.0.3 manually from source works perfectly.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge fwbuilder
2. /usr/bin/fwbuilder &
3. Open existing file, or create a new one
4. After file selection dialog dismissed, error msg appears.

Actual Results:
Received error message:

Error loading data file:
Data file '/usr/share/fwbuilder/objects_init.xml' was created by the future
version of Firewall Builder.

Expected Results:
Either opened the existing file (created in 2.0.2), or created a new file,
depending on whether you opened or created a new project.

As much as I wish I could help on this one I'm afraid it's out of my realm.

But...
For the love of Tux!! Update distcc! 2.18 came out today and 2.13 hasn't been in portage for ages!

The only thing I can come up with is to check the file to see what version is defined in it. Also double-check what version of fwbuilder and libfwbuilder you have installed.

Assuming this is not an issue anymore, otherwise reopen please.
