Hi, Sound-juicer 0.5.13 is out since a little while Sound-juicer 0.5.14 on october 11th. I will attach the two simple ebuilds I used to get em installed (correctly) on my system (both are based on the 0.5.12 ebuild from Jeremy Huddleston <eradicator@gentoo.org>) I hope to see this in portage soon. From its website : Sound Juicer "Bust The Meter" 0.5.14 Sound Juicer "Bust The Meter" 0.5.14 is available -- download the tarball here. Debian packages available in my repository and are in the upload queue as usual. * Don't corrupt the title/artist entries when changing CD * Sort the genre list at runtime (Christophe Fergeau) * Handle unset values in GConf (Colin Walters) * Fixed HAL compile (Colin Walters and Sjoerd Simons) Sound Juicer "Desire Is The Father Of Invention" 0.5.13 Sound Juicer "Desire Is The Father Of Invention" 0.5.13 is available -- download the tarball here. Debian packages available in my repository and are in the upload queue as usual. This releases most obvious change is a potential speed up, and a genre drop-down. The UI for this will probably change over time so please don't tell me how crap you think it is. * Add a genre drop-down * Update CD code, and use HAL if available * Depend on GTK+ 2.4 and use the new file chooser * Don't corrupt data if the disc is changed whilst the Rip Complete dialogue is open (Sean Proctor) * More charset escaping (Frederic Crozat) * Add more GStreamer iterate functions to speed ripping (David Arnold) * Be a bit more paranoid about incorrect GConf keys * Allow the MusicBrainz server to be changed * Lots of little bug fixes but lots of fabby people Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

Created attachment 41580 [details] sound-juicer-0.5.14.ebuild with HAL Did not yet find out what is the difference if I use HAL, but I corrected the ebuild to get a "hal" USE flag...
your hal dep is to low, it requires 0.2.98 (check configure.in for deps if not positive). You post the changelog which states a gtk-2.4 minimal dep, that should be shown in the updated ebuild since you are attaching them. No need to post full attachments of ebuilds that already exist in the tree. If you feel that an attachment is needed, please make it a diff (diff -u old.ebuild new.ebuild > ebuild.diff ) of the current ebuild. Also, devs are aware of releases, no need to post bug reports a few hours after the tarball is put on the site.
Then why isn't the 0.5.13 in Gentoo yet? September 28th ;-) It was a total coincidence when I found out that there was a release of 0.5.14... at first I just wanted to try 0.5.13. Thanks for your comments. I'll try to get better at using Bugzilla and contributing to the Gentoo project.
it's because we're too busy sorting trough bugmail with 'wise' comments to get any real work done these days. added .14 & thnx for the report
